Your goals
Care focused on the activities you want to enjoy again.

More comfort in the things you do every day.

A walk around the neighborhood. Time in the garden. Using your hands without thinking about every movement. When arthritis gets in the way, finding relief can make a real difference to daily life.

If medications, physical therapy, or injections haven’t given you lasting relief, low-dose radiation therapy—also called LDRT—offers another option to explore.

Targeted treatment for painful joints.

LDRT uses small, carefully targeted doses of radiation to reduce inflammation in an arthritic joint. The aim is to ease pain and stiffness and make movement more comfortable.

Dr. Prasad evaluates arthritis affecting the knees, hands, fingers, hips, shoulders, and other joints. Your consultation starts with where it hurts, what you’ve tried, and what you would like to get back to doing.

Could this be right for you?

  • Arthritis pain is limiting your activity, sleep, or daily routine.
  • You have tried other treatments and still want better relief.
  • You would like to explore a nonsurgical approach.

You don’t need to decide on treatment before calling. A consultation with Dr. Prasad is the next step in finding out whether LDRT fits your needs.

A few practical questions

What are the visits like?

Treatment is delivered from outside the body while you rest in a comfortable position. The radiation itself is painless. A typical course for joint pain involves several short visits over two to three weeks; the team will explain your schedule.

Will I need time off to recover?

Treatment does not involve an operation or anesthesia, and most patients can continue their usual daily activities. Your care team will provide any instructions specific to you.

How do I check insurance?

Epic Care can review your benefits and explain authorization requirements and costs before treatment. When you call, ask for a low-dose radiation consultation with Dr. Gautam Prasad.
